This month, Lachlan Francis of Pubs & Clubs Australia gives his personal testimony following a full year of Advanced Business Mentoring with Dan

Q1. What type of business are you in?

A. Pubsclubs increases profits in pubs and clubs by reducing their operating costs and increasing their turnover. We are very good at delivering substantial value to our clients and whilst there is irony that DFI essentially performs the same business orientated tasks that we do with our clients, it demonstrates that all businesses require fine tuning and that the smart business owners seek and surround themselves with professional expertise.

Q2. What made you decide to enter your current business and what were the initial challenges just prior to your working relationship with Dan?

A. The business was established eight years ago, recognizing that there was a niche in providing web marketing services to the hospitality industry. The expansion of the business in providing the additional services meant that we
had to automate many of the processes to achieve efficiency in servicing the clients and the clarity and focus provided by DFI assisted in achieving this.

Q3. What has been the main impact in your business following your collaboration with DFI?

A. Few businesses dedicate the time or resources to undertaking a high-level overview of their business. The process with DFI was integral in recognizing the main flaws relating to pricing, the sales approach and the communication
process with clients. Correction of these key business fundamentals has had an immediate effect on the bottom line that has already fully subsidised the DFI Management fee.

Q4. What were the greatest benefits you received personally during your mentoring sessions?

A. For a small business owner, having a structure that provides continual focus on the key tasks to ensure the business drives forward to achieve the set goals rather than being absorbed and lost in the day to day operations cannot be underestimated and is the biggest benefit. Being able to achieve these business goals will for me ensure greater flexibility and enjoyment outside the business arena.
